Production is officially underway on Season 2 of HBO’s I Love LA, and the breakout comedy has revealed a fresh wave of guest stars joining Rachel Sennott’s increasingly chaotic world.
Taron Egerton, Jamie Chung, Benjamin Norris, Dylan Arnold, Jessy Hodges and Milan Carter have all signed on for guest roles in the upcoming eight-episode season. HBO is keeping details about their characters under wraps for now, but the stacked lineup is already raising expectations for what’s next.
The newcomers will join returning series regulars Rachel Sennott, Odessa A’zion, Jordan Firstman, Josh Hutcherson and True Whitaker.
Created by, executive produced by and starring Sennott, I Love LA follows Maia, an ambitious aspiring talent manager trying to carve out a career in Hollywood while juggling friendships, romance and the constant identity crisis that comes with being a twenty-something in Los Angeles. Things become even more complicated when her college friend Tallulah (A’zion), a rising influencer, suddenly reenters her life.
The series has been praised for its sharp, painfully relatable take on modern adulthood, influencer culture and the entertainment industry, with Sennott previously describing the show as “Entourage for internet girls.”
Season 1 quickly became one of HBO’s breakout comedies, averaging around 2 million viewers across HBO and streaming and earning an early Season 2 renewal. It also attracted an impressive roster of guest stars, including Moses Ingram, Elijah Wood, Quenlin Blackwell, Froy Gutierrez and Ayo Edebiri, whose surprise appearance as an over-the-top British pop star became an instant fan favorite.
Now, the sophomore season looks ready to keep that momentum going.
Egerton joins fresh off projects including Apex and Kockroach, while Chung continues to add to a résumé spanning everything from Lovecraft Country to Batman: Caped Crusader. Never Have I Ever fan favorite Benjamin Norris also joins the ensemble alongside Oppenheimer actor Dylan Arnold, Barry star Jessy Hodges and Fubar actor Milan Carter.
With production now underway in Los Angeles, fans will have to wait a little longer to find out who the new additions are playing, but one thing seems certain: Maia’s already complicated life is about to get even more crowded.
Sennott executive produces the series alongside Emma Barrie, Aida Rodgers, Max Silvestri and Lorene Scafaria.
A premiere date for Season 2 has not yet been announced.
