Romeo Beckham to Make Acting Debut in Gay Tennis Drama

LGBTQ Entertainment News

Romeo Beckham is officially entering his actor era, and his first project already sounds like it could become a new obsession for fans of sports dramas, slow-burn tension, and beautiful people having emotional crises in Paris.

Studiocanal has unveiled the first look at Forty Love, a new French romantic drama directed by acclaimed fashion photographer Pierre-Ange Carlotti in his feature directorial debut. And yes, the premise is exactly as intriguing as it sounds.

According to Variety, the film stars Beckham alongside French actors Paul Kircher, Guillaume Canet, and Benjamin Voisin, with an appearance from screen legend Catherine Deneuve.

A Tennis Rivalry That Turns Into Something Much More

At the center of Forty Love is Sacha Gallo, a tennis superstar who has spent his entire life training with his father to achieve one goal: winning a major title in Paris.

Everything changes when a magnetic new rival enters his orbit, played by Romeo Beckham. But this isn’t your typical sports movie about defeating an opponent on the court. Instead, the story takes a much more interesting turn.

According to the official synopsis, Sacha discovers that the greatest challenge he’s ever faced isn’t competition at all. It’s love. Suddenly, ambition, identity, and desire become tangled together in ways he never expected, forcing him to confront emotions that are far more complicated than winning a trophy.

Honestly? They had us at gay tennis drama.

Romeo Beckham Is Expanding Beyond Fashion

While this marks Beckham’s first acting role, he is no stranger to the spotlight.

The son of David Beckham and Victoria Beckham has spent years building a career in fashion, modeling for luxury houses including Saint Laurent and Balenciaga.

Now he’s stepping into an entirely new creative lane.

When Can You Watch It?

French audiences will get to see Forty Love first when it arrives in theaters on Nov. 25. An international release timeline has not yet been announced.

For now, we’ll simply be adding “Paris-set queer tennis romance starring Romeo Beckham” to our ever-growing list of movies we absolutely need to see.
