It may be considered one of the greatest games of all time, but when it comes to survival mechanics, having to worry about food, drink, and sleep in Night City is the least of our worries. Although players are able to purchase apartments across Night City, they are merely used as hubs with few interactions, acting more as a place to change clothes and check emails than anything else. However, with Cyberpunk 2077 fans wanting to push the boundaries of what the CD Projekt RED RPG has to offer, this free download is guaranteed to add a touch of realism to the beloved title.
Survival System is a free-to-download mod for Cyberpunk 2077 courtesy of Di Crash over on Nexus Mods. Put simply, it adds survival mechanics to the game, making food, drink, and rest an important feature. If your V has any chance of survival in Night City, it is not just corporations and gangs they have to look out for, as they will now need to keep fed, watered, and rested if they want to keep their health topped up. Luckily, the mod includes handy widgets that will keep track of your needs, but you will need to keep an eye on them instead of expecting them to start waving their hands above their heads like in The Sims.
However, keeping fed and watered is not an easy task as now, the price of items at merchants has been increased, meaning that you will have to keep track of your Eddies to be able to afford essentials as well as weapons, apartments, clothes, and more. Sounding a lot like real life, huh? Luckily, all food and drink found in Cyberpunk 2077 has now received a revamp courtesy of Survival System, with added weight added to all consumables and ammunition. As such, your weight limit is yet another feature that you will have to keep maintained if you still want to be able to parkour across Night City’s rooftops. However, with the mod able to be completely customized, it is up to you how much more of a challenge you wish to give yourself.
