House of the Dragon proved to be a really solid return to the Game of Thrones universe in its first season, as we finally find out the nitty gritty of what happened a couple of centuries before the Night King’s arrival. The characters are memorable, and the story is solid, though it does feel like it has lost a little momentum as the seasons have worn on.
The show’s popularity has seen it crop up all over the place over the last year or two, as fans try to learn more about the events in Westeros. Many of these have cropped up in ongoing adaptations in the world of video games and beyond, but a new release is actually set to serve as a follow-up to a very successful drop from 2024, and it could serve as a solid investment if your luck is in.
Over on the SciFiHobby website, manufacturer Rittenhouse Archives confirmed the upcoming release of House of the Dragon Season 2 Trading Cards. The first set dropped back in 2024 and quickly sold out, likely serving as the motivation for this follow-up, which centers around the sequel series of the HBO show.
As with most TCGs, the set comes with a huge variety of cards that you can get by opening up packs. A box of 24 packs (each coming with five cards) has the potential to contain cards from the Base Set or the Bonus Set. The Base Set includes 65 cards in total, three for each episode alongside 41 character cards, while the bonus set features a variety of signed cards, foil-stamped cards, insert cards, art cards, and more.
The full list of cast members who have lent their signatures to the Inscription Autograph Cards is as follows:
- Emma D’Arcy (Rhaenyra Targaryen)
- Rhys Ifans (Otto Hightower)
- Ewan Mitchell (Aemond Targaryen)
- Matt Smith (Daemon Targaryen)

The boxes can be ordered right now since their release on September 30, with each one costing $199.99. You can also pick up a Series 2 binder for your collection for $29.99. In every eight boxes, fans will be able to find either the Emma D’Arcy/Matt Smith Dual Autograph Card orthe Rhys Ifans/Olivia Cooke Dual Autograph Card, which should serve as the most valuable pick-ups in the set.
Season 3 of House of the Dragon has just reached its conclusion, and fans are in for a long wait to find out the concluding chapter. A fourth and final season is set to debut some time in the middle of 2028, so it might be best to find something else to watch in the meantime, while you wait it out.
