Through the years, Kyle MacLachlan‘s bond with Laura Dern has had its peaks and valleys.
The actor reflected on how he ended his four-year romance with the Jurassic Park alum during the late ’80s to date his Twin Peaks costar Lara Flynn Boyle, admitting that it was “not my best moment.”
“She is sexy and edgy, a tough girl from Chicago, the antithesis of anyone I’ve ever been with,” MacLachlan said of Boyle in a People interview published Sept. 21. “I was away on location [in the Pacific Northwest] and feeling, ‘This is my town, let me show you some of the cool spots.'”
“We fell into this relationship, and it just destroyed the relationship with Laura,” the 67-year-old continued. “I did not handle that well, especially for Laura.”
However, MacLachlan noted that he and Dern, 59, have now “healed.”
In fact, the exes even costarred in Twin Peaks‘ 2017 revival, making it the second time they had collaborated onscreen since 1986’s Blue Velvet.
