Nashville is calling again, and Irene Michaels is answering.
On September 20, the 12th Annual Josie Music Awards take over the Grand Ole Opry House—the largest celebration of independent music in the world. Michaels arrives as a nominee for Artist of the Year in Pop/Pop Rock, returning to the stage that has already marked some of the brightest nights of her recording life.
The weekend starts a day earlier. On September 19, the JMA Music Conference fills the Gaylord Opryland Resort with media, panels, and the kind of hallway conversations that actually move careers. Then comes the main event: red carpet from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m., doors at 5:15, and a 7:00 p.m. show that has to be seated by 6:45. The Opry does not do casual. Neither does she.
This is not a first date with Music City. Michaels won Pop Song of the Year in 2023 for “I Like Rain.” In 2025 she took Song of the Year in Hip Hop for “My Heart” with Twizm Whyte Piece and stood on that same Opry stage as a presenter.
