Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) — a MAGA congresswoman who has repeatedly accused LGBTQ+ people and their supporters of “grooming” children for sexual abuse — has a 21-year-old son who, as of today, has been charged with three felony counts related to sexual exploitation of a child.

Her son, Tyler Boebert, was arrested on Sunday and charged in Garfield County, Colorado in connection to an incident that allegedly occurred on on New Year’s Day in 2024. The charges against him include the sexual exploitation of a child; child exploitation with intent to “deal in, sell, or distribute… sexually exploitative material;” as well as a third charge relating to videotaped material, The Denver Post reported. He also faces two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

By Monday afternoon, Rep. Boebert issued a statement saying, “I love my son. We take these allegations very seriously and pray for everyone affected during this challenging time.”

In May 2022, Boebert targeted Tyra Banks and the reality show Generation Drag, quote-tweeting a trailer for the series with the caption “Siri, define grooming.” That same month, in response to a North Carolina elementary school teacher using LGBTQ+-inclusive flashcards, Boebert tweeted: “We went from Reading Rainbow to Randy Rainbow in a few decades, but don’t dare say the Left is grooming our kids!”

In July 2022, she accused federal health official Dr. Rachel Levine of “grooming” children by supporting gender-affirming care for transgender youth, labeling it as harmful “woke medicine.” In August 2022, she posted an ad for a public library’s “Drag Queen Story Hour” and wrote on social media: “Sending a message to all the drag queens out there: stay away from the children!”

The legal charges against her son were alluded to in February 2024, when Tyler Boebert was arrested and faced five felony charges and several misdemeanor charges, including ones connected to his allegedly stealing from a woman with a brain tumor, leaving her with only $75 “left to her name.”

Tyler Boebert and the teenagers he was with at the time allegedly broke into several parked cars on February 19 and 20, 2024 in Rifle, Colorado, and took credit cards and wallets. The teens then tried to use the cards at a Kum & Go in Rifle and a Love’s Travel Stop in Parachute, Colorado.

At the time, investigators said that Tyler Boebert committed the crimes while in the company of two underage boys and one underage girl. Police said that one of the suspects accused Tyler Boebert of making a “sex tape” with the girl. The video was then allegedly sent around to others.

The alleged theft results in him facing four felony counts of criminal possession of ID documents, one felony count of conspiracy to commit a felony, and 15 misdemeanor and petty charges.

“The Biden Crime Family will go down as the most corrupt political family in American history,” she posted to X just before her own son was arrested in 2024.
