Netflix has officially dropped the first trailer for the fifth and final season of Outer Banks, giving fans a glimpse at the high-stakes adventure awaiting the Pogues while announcing a massive fan celebration to mark the end of the beloved series.

After five seasons of treasure hunts, betrayals, romances and life-or-death adventures, the hit YA drama is preparing to say goodbye in style.

The newly released trailer teases another action-packed chapter as John B (Chase Stokes), Sarah (Madelyn Cline), Kiara (Madison Bailey), Pope (Jonathan Daviss), Cleo (Carlacia Grant) and the rest of the Pogues face what could be their most dangerous mission yet.

No Place for Pogues

The season picks up after the devastating events of Season 4, with the Pogues still mourning the loss of JJ (Rudy Pankow) while trying to stop Chandler Groff, who escaped with the legendary Blue Crown.

Although grief hangs over the group, they’re far from giving up. Their latest mission takes on new meaning when they learn of an ancient legend surrounding the crown that suggests it may hold the power to restore life. The possibility is enough to make both the Pogues and viewers wonder if JJ’s story is truly over.

"Two people stand closely together outdoors. The woman holds up a knife while the man gently guides her hand. They both appear calm and focused, surrounded by lush greenery in a natural setting."

“I mean, all things considered, I think we’re doing really good.”

Whether the Blue Crown can actually bring JJ back or Netflix is simply giving fans one last reason to hold onto hope remains a mystery. For now, viewers will have to wait until the final season to find out.

One Last Adventure, And You’re Invited

Alongside the trailer, Netflix also announced Pogues for Life: A Fan Farewell Event with the Cast of Outer Banks, giving fans one last chance to celebrate the series before its final season premieres.

The one-night-only event will bring together the best cast, including Stokes, Cline, Bailey, Daviss, Grant and Drew Starkey for a final celebration with fans before the series comes to an end.

One of the night’s biggest attractions will be the inaugural Pogue Awards, the first-ever fan-voted Outer Banks awards show. Fans will decide the winners across categories celebrating the show’s most iconic moments, with voting opening Aug. 6 on Tudum.

"Two young men excitedly hold cash in a dimly lit closet, with clothes hanging in the background and an open safe visible behind them, suggesting they just found or stole the money."

Following the awards, the cast will reunite on stage for a farewell conversation reflecting on five seasons of adventures, friendships and the impact of the series.

Fans attending in person will also get an exclusive advance screening of the first episode of the final season, watching alongside hundreds of fellow Pogues before it premieres worldwide.

Those unable to make the trip to Los Angeles won’t miss out. Netflix will livestream the entire event on Tudum, allowing fans around the world to celebrate the final chapter together.

With one final treasure hunt on the horizon and a farewell celebration bringing the cast and fandom together one last time, it’s officially time for the Pogues’ last adventure.
