Connor Storrie may have just been revealed as the latest addition to the cast of The Bell Jar, the upcoming film adaptation of Sylvia Plath’s landmark 1963 novel.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Ontario’s Parkwood National Historic Site appeared to accidentally reveal Storrie’s involvement in Sarah Polley’s upcoming adaptation of The Bell Jar on Friday morning. The museum shared an Instagram Reel celebrating the production’s time filming at the historic estate.
Included in the post was a photo of a floral bouquet with text thanking the cast and crew and naming Billie Eilish, who is expected to make her feature film acting debut in the project, alongside Storrie.
In the caption, Parkwood National Historic Site thanked the production team for filming at the location and wished the cast and crew luck as production continues. The museum also shared that one of its greenhouse growers created a custom bouquet of Parkwood flowers to welcome Eilish to the historic mansion, which served as both a filming location and her green room during the shoot.
The Instagram post was later deleted, and neither the production nor the actors have officially announced Storrie’s casting.
The project has generated significant buzz since reports emerged that Eilish was in talks to lead the film. Directed and adapted by Academy Award winner Sarah Polley, The Bell Jar tells the story of Esther Greenwood, a talented college student whose promising future begins to unravel as she struggles with depression, identity, and the pressures placed on young women. Widely regarded as one of the most influential novels about mental health and self-discovery, Sylvia Plath’s semi-autobiographical work continues to resonate with readers more than six decades after its publication.
If confirmed, The Bell Jar would mark another major career milestone for Storrie following his breakout role in Heated Rivalry and his recent Emmy nomination for hosting Saturday Night Live. For Eilish, the film would represent her first leading role in a feature after previous on-screen appearances, including Swarm and Saturday Night Live, as well as her two Academy Award-winning original songs for No Time to Die and Barbie.
