Ladies of London star Martha Sitwell is in mourning.

The 46-year-old announced the sudden death of her bird Hecate, who viewers of the Bravo show know was her beloved longtime companion.

“I’m so sorry, everybody,” Sitwell shared through tears in a video posted to Instagram June 25. “I’ve got the worst news to share with you all. Hecate died yesterday. She drowned, and she was always so cautious about water.”

“There was a tub I left outside that was too deep,” she continued. “It was right next to her bath. I don’t understand why she went in it, and it was a momentary lapse of concentration, and I am so sorry.”

The model went on to explain that Hecate going into the tub was out of character for the bird.

“When I couldn’t find her yesterday morning, the last place I thought to look was in that tub,” Sitwell said. “She was so clever and so cautious about water.”
