In a bizarre video that is being compared to a Saturday Night Live sketch, the office of the U.S. Ambassador to The Bahamas, led by appointee Herschel Walker, warned Americans visiting the archipelagic country that “Jet ski rentals pose a serious risk of injury, death, and sexual assault.”
In the video, Walker said that injuries and deaths have been caused by people riding jet skis in shallow waters. He then clarifies, “Americans have also been sexually assaulted by jet ski operators who take victims to isolated islands,” and adds that operators may be unlicensed, uninsured, and may not properly maintain the skis.

Numerous social media users mocked the message for its awkward phrasing, with many saying they couldn’t tell if the video was real or a parody, and at least one person claiming that Walker, a former NFL player, has brain damage. One commenter jokingly asked, “Jet ski rentals pose a risk of sexual assault?? How wrong are you using a friggin jetski?”

During Walker’s failed 2022 U.S. Senate campaign, journalists discovered that he hadn’t actually owned several businesses or worked in law enforcement or as an FBI agent as he had previously claimed. Walker’s flamboyantly “not gay” son, Christian Walker, said in October his father’s repeated death threats against him and his mother forced them to move “six times in six months.”
Walker opposes same-sex marriage and told a crowd at a rally that transgender kids will not get into heaven. During his failed campaign, Walker’s handlers reportedly wouldn’t allow journalists “within 20 feet of him,” for fear that he would make embarrassing comments.
