But just because you’re wearing sun protection clothing doesn’t mean you should be skipping out on SPF, confirmed Dr. Liu.
“UPF clothing is an excellent layer of protection, but it doesn’t replace sunscreen. You still need sunscreen on exposed areas like the face, ears, neck, hands, and anywhere clothing doesn’t fully cover,” she explained.
