Gay Saturday Night Live writer Jimmy Fowlie wrote on Wednesday that his sister Christina Lynn Downer, who has been missing for the last four months, is no longer alive, according to investigators at the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD).
“The case has officially transitioned from a missing person to a homicide investigation,” Fowlie wrote via Instagram. “We have reason to believe that in the weeks before she went missing, her phone and social media were compromised.”

Fowlie wrote that whoever took her phone used it to hide her disappearance, used her social media to ask others for money, and then created a false narrative that she was going “off the grid.”
“Our prayers for her to be found safely have transformed into prayers for the truth to be revealed and for those responsible to be held accountable,” he wrote, asking supporters to share his Instagram post in hopes that anyone with information about her disappearance might come forward.

“I want to amplify her story in the only way I know how,” he added. “And to express that she was a beautiful person who matters in this world, especially to me.”
His Instagram post included childhood and more recent photos of his sister. “I’m gonna take a step back from social media due to the intense overwhelming feelings,” he wrote, urging followers to share any relevant information with the LAPD.
In an Instagram post shared last December, Fowlie wrote that his sister was last seen in the Koreatown area of Los Angeles. “I heard from her on Nov 26th. She was active on social media up to Dec 15th,” he wrote, adding, “At this time the detectives have advised us not to share certain details so we don’t compromise the case.”
Downer is a 38-year-old woman who is approximately 5’1″ tall, around 120 pounds, and has dark brown hair and brown eyes.
Fowlie began writing for Saturday Night Live in 2022. He was a writer for A Nonsense Christmas With Sabrina Carpenter and wrote and acted in the gay comedic web series Go-Go Boy Interrupted. He has also appeared on various comedy shows, including The Other Two, 2 Broke Girls, English Teacher, and The Goldbergs.
