Hilary Duff Says Aaron Carter Visited Her During a Psychic Reading After His Death
Nicole Richie and Hilary Duff’s friendship is what dreams are made of.
In fact, the Simple Life alum penned a sweet message about the Lizzie McGuire star—who dated Nicole’s now-husband Joel Madden from 2004 to 2006—detailing their longstanding friendship.
“Hilary Duff has been my friend for about seven years,” Nicole shared in Time, which chose Hilary as one of their 100 Most Influential People of 2026, “but in the minds of millennials everywhere, she’s been our friend for most of our lives.”
The 44-year-old felt like she was experiencing life alongside Hilary, noting that she and many fans “experienced one big, collective surge of serotonin” after Hilary, 38, released her album Luck… or Something in February.
“Hilary exists in that rare space of both nostalgia and now,” Nicole wrote, “She reminds us of a time that felt safe and full of possibility. But she also grew up, unapologetically. She built a family, a career, and an overall rhythm that is expansive and authentic.”
