“This is Broadway’s biggest night,” she told the Associated Press June 13. “Why not give the people at home even more of a Broadway experience? Our show is going to move like a Broadway show. We want to give you a full Broadway experience.”
As far as nominations go, Hell’s Kitchen and Stereophonic led the charge, with each production earning 13 nods apiece. Following close behind is the thrilling musical The Outsiders, of which Angelina Jolie serves as producer alongside daughter Vivienne, who is credited as a producer assistant, which scored 12 nominations.
But that’s not all as Cabaret nabbed an impressive nine nods, while Appropriate, the family drama that stars Sarah Paulson, scored eight.
