E-commerce giant Myntra recently announced a significant milestone, securing the franchise rights for the renowned UK-based fashion brand, Next, within India.

This is as per media reports, which added the franchise agreement, signed between Myntra and Next, empowers Myntra Jabong Pvt. Ltd., the company’s B2B wholesale arm, to spearhead the distribution of Next’s diverse product range across the country.

This strategic collaboration marks a pivotal moment for both entities, as it not only facilitates the distribution of Next’s products but also aims to amplify Next’s omni-channel presence within the Indian market.

Through a series of Next-branded stores to be established by Myntra’s B2B entity, the association seeks to seamlessly blend online and offline retail experiences, catering to the evolving needs of Indian consumers.

Nandita Sinha, chief executive officer of Myntra, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting the successful establishment of Next’s online presence in India during the initial phase of collaboration.

Sinha emphasised Myntra’s expertise in propelling global brands towards exponential growth and expressed optimism about the brand’s journey towards scalability within India.

Over the next couple of years, Myntra plans to roll out 8-10 Next stores across key Indian cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. This expansion strategy, complemented by an extensive online presence on Myntra’s platform, aims to solidify Next’s footprint in the Indian retail landscape.

Moreover, Myntra’s collaboration with Next opens doors to introduce other brands under the Next umbrella to the Indian market.

Brands like Reiss, Lipsy, Joules, Love and Roses, and Friends Like These, wholly or partly owned by Next, will soon become accessible to Indian consumers, further enriching Myntra’s diverse product offerings.
