90 Day Fiancé: Usman Reveals Why Ex-Girlfriend Zara Broke Up With Him

Movies

Usman Umar, aka Sojaboy, is caught admitting he still loves his ex-girlfriend Zara in the 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season finale as he finally reveals the real reason they split. 32-year-old Usman became a household name with his stint in the 90 Day Fiancé spin-off’s previous season in which he got married to ex-wife Lisa “Babygirl” Hamme. While Lisa claims she’s still legally married to Usman, he moved on with Kim Menzies, who’s now his “official” girlfriend. However, before Kim entered the picture, Usman was also dating another American woman named Zara whom he even wrote a song about.

Usman actually dated Zara after he met Kim on social media who was then his “superfan.” When Usman was introduced to 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 5 viewers, he spoke of Zara for the first time and how he was going to Tanzania to shoot a music video about his song dedicated to her. Usman invited Kim on the trip to get to know the San Diego woman better, without telling her the truth about Zara. Kim kept believing “Zara” was about all the women in the world with the same name, and Usman only revealed his big secret after he gave in to Kim’s demands and the two had sex. Kim showed her jealous side upon finding out about Zara. However, she kept maintaining that she never had an issue with Zara, whom she referred to as a “b****”, but only with Usman hiding his relationship.

When Kim left Tanzania, Usman was embarrassed to even kiss her. According to a preview clip from Before the 90 Days episode 16, it could have been because his heart still belongs to his ex. In the clip shared by People, Zara finally makes an appearance as Usman conveys he’s not over her, despite their split. With his shirt unbuttoned, Usman video calls Zara before admitting, “Even though I didn’t meet Zara in person, I love that lady so much.” However, Usman states that Zara couldn’t handle his career. “And I love my career more than anything,” he adds. “So this is the reason why she [broke] up with me,” Usman confesses to the 90 Day Fiancé producers. According to him, he and Zara broke up four months before his Zanzibar trip.

Usman has concerns about Kim, even though he thinks he has developed feelings for the 50-year-old woman. But Usman feels that their relationship stays peaceful as long as he keeps giving in to Kim’s demands. Him wanting “more clarity about something” makes Usman reach out to Zara. It turns out Zara has been on Usman’s mind as he filmed the music video and almost broke up with Kim. He knows Kim won’t like him contacting Zara, but this call is what will help him become “sure” about his future with Kim. When Usman lets Zara know he’s in Zanzibar to film a music video about the song he penned for her before their breakup, she appears to be blushing. Usman is also familiar with Zara’s brothers and mom, who is aware of their split.

The video ends on a cliffhanger, with Usman asking Zara if she misses anything about him. In case Zara reciprocates his feelings, it’s possible that Usman will dump Kim and go back to his ex. If that happens, maybe Usman will make his third 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days appearance with a third American, albeit a younger love interest. Kim was a replacement for Zara on 90 Day Fiancé. But spoilers suggest Usman is still with Kim, and the couple is probably engaged. He may never stop loving Zara. But for him, she is the one that got away.
