‘Love Is Blind’ star Shake: Deepti is ‘playing up this victim thing’ after split

Reality TV

Abhishek “Shake” Chatterjee claims ex-fiancée Deepti Vempati – who he proposed to in the “Love Is Blind” pods – has been playing the “victim” ever since the show wrapped.

“I’m like, hurt, that she’s playing up this victim thing so hard when we had so much fun, and I took [such] good care of her,” the reality star said on Domenick Nati’s Instagram Live on Tuesday.

The self-proclaimed villain added that he and Deepti “haven’t really talked since the reunion.”

As previously reported, Shake faced major backlash from Season 2 fans for the “disrespectful” comments he made about Deepti behind her back.

Multiple episode from the season showed footage of Shake telling his co-stars, friends and family members that he wasn’t physically attracted to her – even comparing her to his “aunt” at one point.

“Some of the things he said were just completely disrespectful, even to a friend,” Deepti told Page Six earlier this month. “So, yeah, it’s been tough watching it back but I’m trying to put it in the past and just move forward.”

Shake doubled down on his lack of physical attraction during his IG Live interview, telling Nati he “wasn’t attracted enough to make that commitment to her.”

The veterinarian previously attempted to take accountability for his actions earlier this month by apologizing to Deepti via social media.

“Deepti, I am truly sorry for some of the things I said,” he said in a video posted to Instagram.

“Things that, honestly, just could’ve been left unsaid, or could have been said differently. Things that never should have been said on national television.”

Shake has since moved on and went Instagram-official with girlfriend Emily Wilson.

“Good things come to those who w̶a̶i̶t̶ don’t settle ❤️,” he captioned a series of Instagram photos on March 17.

Meanwhile, Deepti has sparked romance rumors with fellow contestant Kyle Abrams, who proposed to Shaina Hurley on the hit Netflix series. Shaina and Kyle ultimately called off their engagement before they even had a chance to make it to the altar.

During the intense Season 2 reunion, Kyle confessed to co-hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey that he should’ve proposed to Deepti instead. The two have not confirmed whether a romance is actually brewing, but they were recently spotted walking around Chicago together.
