MultiVersus: 10 Locations That Should Appear In The Crossover Game

Movies

Warner Bros.’s new crossover fighting gamer, MultiVersus looks to be a lot of fun, combining characters from all kinds of properties and pitting them against one another. While the fighters may be familiar, the settings that they are to do battle in should surely draw on pre-existing locations as well, from the various TV shows and movies.

When choosing a location it has to be recognizable and in terms of gameplay, it requires plenty of environmental interaction opportunities. That doesn’t exactly narrow down the list of potential candidates, but with the brands involved in the title and the potential characters that may be inbound, these areas are surely likely to show up!

Westeros

Game Of Thrones Season 8: King's Landing

Game Of Thrones is still one of the largest franchises on HBO Max. Its presence has been confirmed for MultiVersus with Arya Stark heading into the crossover war. The backdrop of Westeros seems pretty logical therefore since it provides plenty of potential areas to explore.

Whether it’s King’s Landing, beyond the Wall, or in the heart of Winterfell itself, these instantly recognizable medieval-inspired locations will definitely be a change of pace in comparison to the other settings on offer. These fantasy landscapes would provide much-needed obstacles to tackle, perhaps even with the likes of dragons and White Walkers to survive!

Basketball Court

Bugs Bunny In Space Jam: New Legacy

Space Jam has certainly garnered a lot of attention recently thanks to its stylish sequel. The cast of Looney Tunes will slowly filter into the game and Bugs Bunny is already a confirmed roster member. But what’s the most well-known location featuring these out-of-control cartoons?

It has to be a basketball court, where the Tunes have already seen previous combat. It’s a retro nod that also pays homage to the most recent release in the series and a Space Jam arena would certainly be an unexpected choice. The skills seen on the court may just come in handy against these Warner Bros. warriors.

Hogwarts

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry represents a lot of things. It’s the focal point of the Wizarding World, hosted Harry Potter’s journey, and is one of the most beloved fantasy locations in fiction. It’s whimsical, unpredictable, and absolutely gorgeous in its architecture.

No characters from the Harry Potter series have been confirmed for MultiVersus quite yet, but it seems like a no-brainer. Regardless of when they appear, fighting through the Great Hall, atop the Astronomy Tower, or through the moving staircases would be a challenging yet fun set of terrains to utilize.

Gotham

While some DC locations were shown within the trailer for MultiVersus, including the Bat Cave and Themyscira, Gotham City is easily the most iconic superhero backdrop in the history of comics. It’s dark, gritty, and perfectly encapsulates the masked vigilante protecting its crime-ridden streets.

Within the context of the game, it would be a perfect playground to do battle in. Batman’s villains have surely set up a variety of traps to push against, while the tone and atmosphere that Gotham radiates will make any conflict far more intense. Fans have always wanted to visit this brilliant city and MultiVersus could provide an opportunity to do so.

Haunted House

A Haunted House in Scooby Doo

No matter which of the many TV shows from this franchise are featured in the context of the game, it’s hard to find a run of Scooby-Doo episodes that do not feature a haunted house. It’s a classic piece of imagery that immediately sets the tension for the mystery crew.

The gang will make their impact felt in MultiVersus and Scooby and Shaggy are clearly the stars of the show. A haunted mansion could have any number of previous villains lurking in the shadows and the intro to such a location should surely boast some of the beloved songs of the early series.

Cloud Cuckoo Land

The LEGO brand itself has been working alongside Warner Bros. for years both in the world of video games and in regards to their movies. While there are very few original locations from The Lego Moviethe wacky Cloud Cuckoo Land would fit excellently into the vibe of MultiVersus.

It’s the HQ of the major series of crossovers within the film and encapsulates the whimsicality of the combat style within the video game. While it’s unlikely there will be many LEGO characters on the roster itself, dodging falling bricks and scaling the giant cat structure should entice audiences into this fun map.

The Land Of Ooo

Finn and Jake of Adventure Time are some of the many cartoon characters featured amongst the ever-growing roster. The nature of these characters is completely chaotic and the backdrop of their cult series is perhaps even more imaginative in its design.

The Land Of Ooo is the fantasy landscape where the many adventures of this duo take place. It is vibrant, colorful, and full of unexpected surprises. The opportunities to create bizarre gameplay elements with this setting are seemingly endless! Any map could even allow for a choice of Kingdom.

Tom’s House

Tom and Jerry look through a mouse hole in Tom and Jerry

The ageless rivalry of Tom And Jerry has continued for decadesThey are two of Warner Bros.’s largest cartoon characters and are on the roster for MultiVersus. But where do most of their battles actually take place in the context of the series?

It’s Tom’s house that Jerry continues to invade. It’s pretty familiar in its design and fans will be well aware of the backyard which often leads to a terrifying encounter with the neighbor’s dog. For purists, it would seem incomplete if the cat and mouse couldn’t fight against one another, or together, in the context of their fabled home which has acted as a slapstick combat arena for so long.

Deep Space

It seems very unlikely that Rick And Morty would be left out of this MultiVersus title considering how popular the characters are and the opportunity to create meta dialogue thanks to the concept of the show itself. If they are to be involved then the wider galaxy could open up.

While the traditional choice may be the home that the Smith family lives in, there’s a wide universe out there full of interesting planets that players could spiral through thanks to the use of portals or Rick’s trust ship. There are no limits on the craziness of what the Rick And Morty series could contribute in regards to locations.

Middle-Earth

Lord Of The Rings is another franchise that Warner Bros. has a tight grip on and would lend itself to this game concept. Who wouldn’t want to see Arya Stark battling against Frodo or Gandalf? With these characters comes Middle-Earth, the genius creation of J.R.R. Tolkien.

Whether it’s the Shire, Gondor, or the Mount Doom capital of Mordor, there are countless locations that would bring in an element of fantastical danger to proceedings. These areas have made cinema history and feature unique traits that could interlink with gameplay!
