Real Housewives Tell-All Author Explains Why He Didn’t Need Lisa Vanderpump’s Permission To Use Her Tagline For His Book Title

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Lisa Vanderpump sparked rumors of a possible return to the franchise in October of 2021. It was alleged that Lisa was asking for a mere $2 million to return to RHOBH. “What utter nonsense. I have asked for no such thing lol … [no] conversation regarding ‘that’ at all,” Lisa stated in a tweet.

I am still mystified that Lisa was ousted from the show because of the puppy gate scandal. She ditched the reunion and didn’t return to claim her crown in Season 10.

Instead, Lisa squabbles with foe Kyle Richards in the press. Lisa and her husband, Ken Todd, were dining out and saw Kyle having dinner with an executive producer, who worked with Lisa on Vanderpump Rules and Overserved with Lisa Vanderpump. Lisa sent her bill to the table as a joke, and Kyle claimed that she dined and dashed. Don’t worry–Lisa paid the bill.

Lisa is also busy managing all of her businesses and presiding over Season 9 of  Pump Rules, which has been lackluster at best.

Now Lisa has more important things to worry about. In August of 2021, Lisa and Ken’s beloved daughter, Pandora Vanderpump Sabo, announced that she and her husband, Jason Sabo, were expecting a baby.

Pandora announced her son’s birth on Instagram on November 13, 2021. “Theodore 6lb 7oz of pure delicious joy,” she wrote. “You are so loved little Teddy!”

Unfortunately, Lisa recently shared that she has been diagnosed with coronavirus. Covid-19 has been spreading like crazy, and even hit several of Lisa’s former RHOBH cast members. “Agh it finally got me…#covid_19,” Lisa posted on Instagram. I’m sure that she is getting some extra TLC from Ken.

According to Reality Blurb!, Dave Quinn, the author of Not All Diamonds and Rosé: The Inside Story of The Real Housewives from the People Who Lived It, mentioned Lisa during an interview on Tamra Judge and Teddi Mellencamp’s podcast, Two T’s in a Pod.

Dave explained why he didn’t need to get Lisa’s permission to use her well-known Season 3 RHOBH tagline, “Life isn’t all diamonds and rosé, but it should be.” That is my favorite Housewives tagline.

“We had to get, of course, it approved. And she didn’t write that line,” Dave remarked. What? I am so disappointed.

“That was written by Alex Baskin actually. So, Alex Baskin gave us the approval to do that.” Alex is a producer on RHOBH and Pump Rules. Dave added, “So I don’t think she has much of a legal ground to stand on if she tries to come after us.”
