Derick Dillard accuses Jim Bob Duggar of ‘manipulation’ and being ‘verbally abusive’

He has 19 complaints and counting.

Derick Dillard ripped his estranged father-in-law, Jim Bob Duggar, on Tuesday, accusing the reality show patriarch of a host of misdeeds, from being manipulative and deceitful to being abusive and a “sellout.”

“I used to have much respect for Jim Bob, as my father-in-law, and I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt for years,” Dillard said in a Facebook response to a story about Duggar’s run for Arkansas state Senate.

“Unfortunately, it’s only become clearer to us over time just how deep this man’s manipulation and deceit will go for his own gain, at the expense of others,” Dillard, who has been married to Duggar’s daughter Jill Duggar since 2014, wrote on Tuesday. “He has lied to my wife and I numerous times.”

The former “19 Kids and Counting” star also alleged that his father-in-law is “defensive and verbally abusive” in private.

“When he says he cannot be bought, the truth is that he has a history of being a sellout to anything that he can personally profit from, and he will justify it however he wants to continue his personal agenda,” Dillard bluntly put it.

The dad, who shares sons Israel, 6, and Samuel, 4, with Jill, concluded his comment by encouraging people to not vote for Jim Bob and said that since he “continues to lie to his best friends and his own family,” he will lie to the voters.

Dillard’s comment comes after Jim Bob’s eldest son, Josh Duggar, was found guilty on one count each of receiving and possessing child porn on Thursday. Josh, 33, faces up to 20 years behind bars and fines of up to $250,000 for each count.

Jim Bob and his wife, Michelle, 55, made a statement shortly after the verdict saying that they’re “praying” for their son.

“In the days ahead, we will do all we can to surround our daughter-in-law Anna and their children with love and support,” the Duggars said in part of the statement. “As parents, we will never stop praying for Joshua, and loving him, as we do all of our children.”

They concluded, “In each of life’s circumstances, we place our trust in God. He is our source of strength and refuge. Thank you for your prayers.”

Neither Jim Bob Duggar nor Dillard’s reps immediately returned Page Six’s request for comment.
