RHOBH: Lawyer Claims Erika Jayne’s Lifestyle Has Not Changed

Movies

Jay Edelson, the lawyer involved in the Tom Girardi case, believes Erika Jayne from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills lifestyle has not changed since her legal woes. Last year, Erika’s life completely changed after she left and filed for divorce from her husband of more than 20 years. A month after she filed, Tom was accused of embezzling more than $2 million in client funds that were meant for the victims of a plane crash from 2018.

Shortly after his first accusation, an Los Angeles Times exposé was published, claiming the plane crash victims were the first time Tom tried to swindle his client’s money. In fact, the now-disgraced lawyer has been involved in stealing his client’s money for at least ten years. While Erika has blamed his indiscretions on Tom’s Alzheimer’s disease diagnosis, it seems the viewers and the opposing legal team aren’t buying her story.

During an interview on the podcast Reality Life With Kate Casey, Jay told the podcast host that he believes the reality star is still living the lavish lifestyle she had prior to leaving Tom, who has alleged secret bank accounts. “I mean there are reports that she’s making as much as $600,000 for the [Real Housewives of Beverly Hills] season,” the lawyer confessed on Wednesday’s new podcast episode.”And she’s got her glam squad and, you know, we all have to cry along with her.” Jay was commenting on Erika’s rental in Hancock Park and how she refers to a $10,000 a month home as “slumming it.” He called her remarks “offensive” and doubts any of her RHOBH fans can afford a home like hers, let alone have a glam squad on-call. The lawyer also mentioned how Erika, whose season 11 salary leaked, had homes under her name that she didn’t even know she had.

This whole thing [she said of], ‘Oh, I’ve got these homes I’ve never even heard of. Let me Google where they are.’ All of it is just so tone-deaf,” Jay added. “Her character […] ‘I’ve got tons of money, and I don’t give an F.’ […] It makes great reality TV. But it stops the second you stole money from widows and orphans.” Jay expressed how the reality star should have changed her persona once she found out about Tom’s legal drama. He believes she should have done something positive for the victims rather than continuing this callous charter she portrays on-screen. Jay even suggested for Erika, whose pursuing a settlement in the lawsuit, throw a fundraiser and pay off the $2 million she owes to the plane crash victims. While the season didn’t turn out the way Erika wanted, Jay said it will definitely help out his case in the ongoing lawsuit.

Even though Erika’s lifestyle did change after she left Tom, she is still living a privileged life not many can afford. She still owns an expensive car, clothes, designer bags, and a $10,000 a month home in an upscale area of Los Angeles. Maybe she can’t afford what she had before, Erika is certainly doing fine all on her own.
