Spider-Man, Loki & Black Widow Reimagined As Classic Adidas & Nike Shoes

Movies

Fan favorite MCU characters like Spider-Man, Black Widow, and Loki have been turned into stylish Adidas and Nike sneakers. The MCU has changed considerably since it first began in 2008 with the Robert Downey Jr.-starring Iron Man. Over the course of 23 movies, the Infinity Saga unspooled and came to a triumphant end, and now the franchise is moving forward into a new era. Though Phase 4 was supposed to begin in 2020, the coronavirus pandemic delayed it all to this year. It finally kicked off in January with the Emmy-nominated Disney+ series WandaVision.

If there’s a recurring theme to the early Phase 4 projects, it’s that they’ve focused on some of Marvel’s biggest characters who might not have gotten their time in the spotlight just yet. While big name heroes like Spider-Man and Thor are still making their mark on the MCU, Phase 4 has also allowed for those such as Loki and Black Widow to step into their own solo adventures. The characters are the real winners these days, and now, two of the most popular sneaker brands have found clever ways to pay homage to some beloved MCU heroes.

Nike and Adidas (via The Sole Supplier) have come up with unique sneaker designs that emulate various Marvel characters. The first is a new pair of Air Jordan 1s titled “The Spiderverse,” which uses Spider-Man’s red and blue coloring to great affect. Fans will enjoy the inclusion of the names “Holland,” “Maguire,” and “Garfield” in the webbing. After that, Tom Hiddleston’s Loki has been rendered as a pair of green Adidas Forums, while Ant-Man has his own set of red Air Jordan 1s. Finally, fans have “the Romanovs,” or a Black Widow-inspired pair of Nike Dunks. Check them out below.

Marvel fans are used to merchandise like action figures and Funko Pops, so these sneakers are a breath of fresh air. For those who enjoy spicing up their footwear and showing off their fandom, Nike and Adidas have offered plenty of options to choose from. All of the above characters have upcoming appearances in the MCU’s Phase 4, save for Black Widow. Scarlett Johansson’s assassin-turned-Avenger gave her swan song in this summer’s Black Widow and isn’t expected to appear onscreen again.

For the others, though, the MCU has a lot more in store. Spider-Man is first up, with this December’s Spider-Man: No Way Home bringing about Tom Holland’s latest solo adventure as the web-slinger. Loki has season 2 of his Disney+ series on the way and will reportedly appear in 2022’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Finally, Ant-Man will suit up once more in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which will arrive in 2023. In other words, now is the perfect time to see if their sneakers are available in your size.
