Strange Brigade Possibly Confirmed For Switch By Update Data

Rebellion Developments’ Strange Brigade has been possibly confirmed for a Nintendo Switch port thanks to a recent update. Many of Rebellion Developments’ other titles eventually made their way over to the Nintendo handheld console, so many fans are beginning to suspect the title will be included among Nintendo Direct announcements during E3 2021.

Strange Brigade is a third-person shooter based around players working cooperatively to fight against mythological creatures, such as minotaurs, giant scorpions, and Egyptian mummies. Set in the 1930s, players team up in groups of up to four in order to solve puzzles and discover new relics to be collected and unlock new powers. Weapons and gold, used to unlock more weapons, were also found in treasure chests in the levels. While the PC and PS4 versions received mixed reviews, the Xbox One edition had mostly positive reviews from critics. It was also nominated for a number of awards over the past few years.

One of the final presentations in this year’s E3 is the Nintendo Direct, where Nintendo will be releasing a 40-minute video focused exclusively on Nintendo Switch software. The stream will be followed by three hours of gameplay footage and deep dives with the Nintendo Treehouse. During the initial Direct, many games will be announced for release on the Nintendo Switch. According to Nintendo Everything, Strange Brigade has now appeared on Nintendo servers. This has fans and players guessing that the game will be getting a release on the Switch, most likely being announced during the 40-minute Direct.

Back in 2017, the developers at Rebellion Developments told Express Online that porting the game onto the Nintendo Switch would be difficult due to the graphical demands, but it noted that the company may consider it in the future. Now, it seems that the future may have finally come for Strange Brigade

Whether or not Strange Brigade will be announced for the Nintendo Switch, either in a physical or digital capacity, will be revealed shortly. Even if the game is not announced in the E3 Direct, there is nothing that says the game won’t be announced some point down the line – perhaps when Rebellion is ready to tackle the Nintendo Switch graphics downgrade required after it wraps up the current projects under development.
