Bloober Team Releases First Part of Interview With Rutger Hauer During ‘Observer’ Recording Sessions

Horror

It’s hard to believe that it’s been just over a year since Rutger Hauer passed away. But, as always, his iconic roles in film and video games will live on. As part of the lead-up to Observer: System Redux‘s release next month, Bloober Team have released the first of a two-part interview with Rutger Hauer from his time in the studio recording lines for Observer in one of his last acting roles as Dan Lazarski/Observer.

“Rutger was a good friend and will be missed,” said Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babineo. “It was hard hearing him and knowing that he is not with us, but in a way, being able to share his voice again felt special. This interview really shows the depth of passion he had in his role as Dan — he was a wonderful person, and we’re deeply sorry that he passed.”

As part of a tribute to Hauer, Babineo revealed that as part of System Redux, there’s now a hidden in-game Easter Egg that makes reference to Hauer’s iconic role as Roy in Blade Runner. Of course, you’ll have to play the game to find it.

Observer: System Redux will be available on PC and Xbox Series X November 10th, with a follow-up release for PlayStation 5 on November 12.
