Supernatural’s Misha Collins Hosting Watch Party With Jensen Ackles & Jared Padalecki

Actor Misha Collins is organizing a virtual Supernatural watch party. The show is finally coming to an end after 15 action-packed seasons. The CW series follows brothers Sam and Dean Winchester as they travel the country hunting monsters, demons, and other supernatural beings.

Although the second half of Supernatural’s final season was supposed to premiere much earlier, production was delayed thanks to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Supernatural finally resumed shooting last month, with stars Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki both posting emotional good-byes to the show via social media. That being said, while it’s largely unclear what’s in store for the final few episodes of Supernatural, it’s likely that the Winchesters and God will have their long-awaited showdown.

TV Guide reports that Collins, who plays the angel Castiel, will hold a virtual watch party for the West Coast broadcast of Supernatural’s latest episode, entitled ”Last Holiday.” The watch party is set to take place over Zoom tonight at 7:30 PM PT; it will not only include the entire cast but creator Eric Kripke (who has since moved on to The Boys) and showrunner Robert Singer as well. In addition, the watch party – titled “Supernatural Watch Party for Democracy” – will have a political twist. While the watch party will follow Sam and Dean’s newest adventures, it also serves as a political rally to encourage attendees to vote in the upcoming election. Participants can catch the “Last Holiday” screening, chat in the Zoom room, and interact with special guests, including Andrew Yang, Senator Doug Jones, and Senator Cory Booker.

With the presidential election coming up, the Supernatural cast isn’t the only one to rally for a good cause. The This is Spinal Tap team will unite for a virtual table read on October 14th, in order to fundraise for the Philadelphia Democratic Party. Actress Lynda Carter, who played Wonder Woman in the eponymous 1975 TV show, showed off the Amazon princess’ bracelets on Twitter and encouraged her followers to vote early. It’s clear from these various efforts that there’s a lot riding on the November 3rd election. As such, it’s great to see celebrities speaking up and using their platforms for good.

Sam and Dean Winchester have hunted monsters for well over a decade. Although there’s still a lot to be concluded within just a handful of episodes, fans hope that the brothers will finally get the happy ending they deserve. All in all, though, it’s undeniably bittersweet to know that Supernatural is coming to an end. However, thanks to Collins’ Zoom watch party, viewers will have the chance to hold onto the magic for just a little while longer.
