Fangoria Again Re-Animated With New Owners and Multimedia Plans

Horror

Iconic horror magazine Fangoria has once again found itself revived from the dead under new ownership, with a press release tonight announcing that Wanderwell Entertainment CEO and Tragedy Girls producer Tara Ansley and Abhi Goel have joined forces to purchase the brand.

The press release notes that Ansley and Goel, who also acquired Starlog and Gorezone as part of the deal, will “develop projects based on the legacy publication’s 40+ year-old archive of work and history, with an eye on inclusivity and championing forward-thinking creators. ”

In regards to the magazine itself, it’ll continue to be published as a print quarterly, with Phil Nobile Jr. as editor-in-chief and Meredith Borders as managing editor.

Additionally, FANGORIA™ Studios, FANGORIA™ Podcast Network, FANGORIA™ Digital, STARLOG™ Digital, and GOREZONE™ Digital will launch in 2021 with FANGORIA™ Studios producing and distributing both narrative and non-fiction projects in television, film, and digital content across all platforms.

Ansley tweeted tonight, “If a little girl who grew up wanting to be IN Fango can one day co-own Fangoria- that goes to show you how we can all really do anything if we keep banging our heads into the walls long enough. Be kind & collaborate. Don’t ever give up. I look forward to amplifying your voices.”

“We are thrilled to take a fresh approach while still paying homage to the nail-biting stories we grew up on. There could not be a better time to propel these brands to exciting, culturally diverse new heights,” Goel said in a statement. “Not only are we forging into tantalizing new territories, but we are paving the way for global creators to share their varied heritages and perspectives in never-before-seen storylines that will leave genre fans hungry for more.”
