Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills Alum Kim Richards Will Publish Memoir In April; Says She Is “Unafraid And Unapologetic”

Reality TV

Kim Richards is the former Housewife who keeps popping up like the Energizer Bunny. Not the gifted stuffed bunny that she refused to accept from Lisa Rinna for her grandson, however. Kim has reportedly filmed for season 10 of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, so it is a safe bet we will see her on when the show returns.

We all know Kim has led a life of drama, which has often been showcased on RHOBH. Issues with alcohol and a few run-ins with the law are just the tip of the iceberg for Kim. The ugly feuds with her sister Kyle Richards were a major storyline when Kim was a Housewife. Last fall, it was announced that Kim was writing her autobiography, which always seems fitting for a former child star. Now, more information is coming out about the book–and it doesn’t look like Kim is holding anything back.

Kim’s new memoir, The Whole Truth: The Reality of It All, will be released on April 28th. Us Weekly reported a statement about her book that Kim made through Harper Collins Publishers. She declared, “I’ve come to learn that holding onto secrets is like holding your breath. Finally, I feel strong enough to speak my truth. I am unafraid and unapologetic. I am ready.”

Yes, Kim may be ready to speak her truth, but is Kyle? How about Lisa and Harry Hamlin? Will we learn the truth about the alleged dirt Kim alluded to about Harry in Amsterdam?

The Harper Collins statement goes on to describe Kim’s book, revealing, “The Whole Truth is the harrowing, all-too-real and ultimately empowering story of a woman who has been through hell and back, endured, grew strong and learned to become her own fiercest advocate.”

Certainly, Kim has had a difficult life. From child stardom to a fiancé who was murdered while she was talking on the phone with him, Kim has been through the wringer. Often of her own making, it could be said.

So far, the book sounds like it might be like other celebrity memoirs. But the Harper Collins statement gets a little more interesting. It goes on to promote Kim’s book as, “The soul-baring confession of a woman revealing what it was like to be treated like a show pony as a child star, as a disposable object as a wife, a whipping post as a sister and as a tabloid commodity as a celebrity.”

Take a guess as to which part of that statement will cause a huge dust up with Kyle! Yes, “a whipping post as a sister” is probably not going to go down well in the Umansky household, considering Kyle’s often contentious relationship with Kim. I doubt that the sharply-pointed dig is directed towards Kathy Hilton.

Don’t fret that Kim’s book will be all doom and gloom, however. The Harper Collins statement goes on to tease, “But above all else, it is a triumphant tale of a determined woman who refused to be broken — a fierce, loving and relatable human who is strong, flawed and real.” The memoir is further described as, “unvarnished, painful and authentic.”

OK, I am reserving my copy now. If Kim is completely honest in the book as stated, her autobiography will be a page turner. I want to know all about notorious stage mama Big Kathy, Kim’s marriage into a billionaire family, how she really feels about her arrests–and what it is like to be a “whipping post as a sister.”
