THE KEYMAKERS INTERVIEW – Brotherly Love and Hot Modern Sounds…

Music, News

Thank you for your time today.  Please share with our readers the latest news of The Keymakers!

We have a lot going on these days! We’re really happy with the reception our last three singles have gotten and can’t wait to release the entire EP project, ‘Spectra’, on December 4th. In addition to that, we’re booking shows for our first tour ever and can’t wait to start playing in January. It’s a lot to juggle but it’s been such a blast doing it all together.

What have been your greatest achievements in 2019?

2019 has been a huge year for us, and we’ve grown a lot personally and musically. We played our first ever two shows together which was a huge achievement for us. Also, our songs passed 1 million streams on Spotify. If we had to pick, that’s probably the biggest – and not because of the number itself – but because of the people we’ve been able to reach. Our whole mission is to impact people with our music, so being able to connect with people all over the world who appreciate our music – putting faces to names, chatting with fans, seeing how something we created can even slightly change someone else’s life or bring a smile to their face – it’s really been a dream come true.

Where are you guys headed for 2020?

Following the release of our EP in December, we’re going to hit the ground running with a full slate of performances. Our first show is January 7th in our hometown of Pittsburgh, and then we’re hitting 15 other locations (and hoping to add a few more) everywhere from NYC to here in Boston to over in Michigan. We couldn’t be more excited to play the EP and the entire set we have planned. We’re working hard on our performance set and think people will really vibe with what we’re putting together.

Please tell us about your latest single release!

California in the Sun! It came out on November 6th and so far the reception has been so humbling and exciting – It’s actually been our most successful release so far! With this EP we’re trying to create different vibes inspired by experiences from our lives and the lives around us, and this track is a special one. It’s about the escape that we all sometimes crave and the butterflies and excitement that come with a new love – we try to capture that emotion in the track and we think our fans have really connected with it. We always want to give people something a little different with each release, so it’s always great when a song really resonates with people.

How do you keep your music so fresh and innovative?

Thank you! Honestly we think it comes mostly from being music fans. Growing up, our parents and close friends exposed us to SO many different types of music. Classical, Jazz, Funk, Rock, Folk, all of it. Our favorite artists span a ton of genres. So whenever we make our own music, we have all of that shared love of different types of music to lean on, and we try and pull little pieces from all of it to influence what we make. When you combine that with us always constantly listening to new music, it just keeps us inspired to keep pushing our own boundaries and honie the uniqueness of our sound.

Where can we follow you on line?

The best place to find us is on Instagram – our handle is @thekeymakers. We talk to every single new follower and absolutely love connecting with our fans. To see us live, follow our Songkick to catch the updates on every new show we announce. And of course, follow us on Spotify (or wherever you listen to music!) to make sure you catch all of our releases!

Anything else you would like to share with our readers?

Thanks so much for reading and taking an interest! As we said, our primary goal is to share this music with others and have an impact on their lives. So we mean it when we say we truly appreciate every listen, every read, every share, and every connection. Come say hi to us and we hope to see you at a show sometime soon!
