Many actors have played the character of Dracula over the years but it feels pretty safe to say that no actor will ever be more synonymous with the horror icon than Bela Lugosi. The late actor, who of course played the blood-sucker in 1931’s Dracula, will (kinda-sorta) be reprising the role next year for a new graphic novel from Legendary Comics, THR reports today.
The upcoming graphic novel will faithfully adapt Bram Stoker’s Dracula and the titular character will be drawn (by El Garing) to look like Bela Lugosi – approved by the Lugosi Estate!
“There have been great Dracula graphic novels, but to unite Bram Stoker’s novel in a faithful adaptation with the definitive Dracula in the form of screen icon Bela Lugosi is a dream come true,” Legendary Comics SVP Robert Napton said in a statement to the site.
THR notes that the graphic novel will release in Fall 2020.
