Nene Leakes Says She Faces Conflict Head On Next Season Of Real Housewives Of Atlanta

Reality TV

Season 11 of Real Housewives of Atlanta was the NeNe Leakes Show.” NeNe dealt with her husband, Gregg Leakes, and his colon cancer diagnosis. She also shaded him by wondering if karma for cheating on her caused his illness.

When Kandi Burruss and pregnant Porsha Williams ventured into her closet, NeNe promptly tried to remove them. NeNe ripped a cameraman’s shirt, and possibly pulled off Porsha’s belt. I’ll bet in Season 12 no one will even glance at any of NeNe’s closets.

Then, NeNe managed to destroy her long-time friendship with Cynthia Bailey. All because Cynthia invited RHOA alum Kenya Moore to her wine cooler launch without first telling NeNe. NeNe was furious and muttered that Kenya was “a monster.” Of course, when Mike Hill proposed to Cynthia on July 26, NeNe wasn’t surprised. Nene had, in fact, previously stated that she thought Cynthia would get engaged in a bid to keep her peach. I hope NeNe isn’t waiting by her mailbox for a wedding invitation.

At the time that the reunion was filmed, it was pretty much NeNe, and loyal soldier Marlo Hampton, against all the other Atlanta Housewives. One would think that NeNe would be dreading filming the upcoming season, but that isn’t the case.

NeNe told HollywoodLife that she thinks that Season 12 will be “great.” Of course, that doesn’t mean that NeNe will be sitting quietly on the RHOA sidelines.
“I can look in their face and I tell you, I’m still NeNe now,” the “OG” Housewife stated. “I’ve still got to say a whole lot. I’m sure I’m going to have some take and I’m still going to face the confrontation head on, whatever it is I can tell you that we’re going to have a great season 12 of RHOA…that I can tell you.”

So, will viewers see NeNe’s nasty attitude again next season? NeNe explained, “I think it’s going to be a lot chiller, but I want to see what these other girls [on the show] are going to do because they all talk about they’re such exciting people, so, I’m excited to see what it’s going to be like.” And NeNe revealed to HollywoodLife that she is playing the role of peacemaker this season. Sorry–I am not used to seeing the words “NeNe” and “peacemaker” in the same sentence.

“Look, I’ve been on this show a really long time and I’ve seen a lot of different things happen before the camera, behind the scenes –anything and everything, and I love the show and I want to see the show be successful and I want to see it go on for years and years and years,” NeNe stated. “So– if I can help these girls work out an issue, I will. And so, I’ve definitely tried to figure out a way to deal with all of these different personalities which is not easy.”

NeNe added, “All of this is me taking baby steps, you know what I’m saying, and that’s not to say that I was wrong. You may be wrong, but this is me taking baby steps and trying to see if I can help everyone work out their differences while trying to work on my own differences with everyone.” But NeNe isn’t promising a peaceful season. “What it looks like on the show and what’s been is two different things. Me personally, I don’t want conflict. But, when conflict comes my way, I will face it straight on,” NeNe remarked.

Of course, NeNe’s good humor could also be based on her massive raise. She will reportedly be receiving $2.85 million for Season 12. Not too bad for being verbally rude to your co-stars!
