Watch Sleater-Kinney Play New Song “Broken”

Music, News

Sleater-Kinney have shared a “live and stripped down version” of “Broken,” a track off their upcoming record The Center Won’t Hold. The clip was recorded on August 12 and features Corin Tucker singing while Carrie Brownstein plays the piano. “It’s a song about trying to stay strong in the face of trespass and trauma,” the band said in a tweet. Listen to “Broken” below.

“Broken” follows The Center Won’t Hold’s previous singles “Hurry on Home,” “The Future Is Here,” “The Center Won’t Hold,” and “Can I Go On.” In July, drummer Janet Weiss announced that she would be departing the band.

Sleater-Kinney will be hitting the road without Weiss this fall. Check out their schedule and grab tickets here. (Pitchfork may earn a commission from purchases made through affiliate links on our site.)
