Someone Named Luke Sky Walker Is Wanted By The Police, And Mark Hamill Is Having A Field Day

That hashtag game, though. Mark Hamill is clearly having fun with this Tennessee news story about a wanted 22-year-old named Luke Sky Walker. Carter County issued an arrest for the young man, who has been charged with property theft of over $1000. Should we call him Rebel scum?

Or you might say he’s gone to the Dark Side? Maybe… the Force is not with him? Better call Boba Fett, because there’s a bounty on him! I can do this all day. It’s almost like he committed the crimes for the fun of an article like this. Wait, one more: maybe he found a more nefarious way to pick up some power converters then traveling to Tosche Station!

Now Mark Hamill’s Empire Strikes Back reference is actually because he’s commented on Luke Sky Walker’s crimes before. Back in December, he posted this after he violated his probation in connection with a felony theft charge:

As you can imagine, it’s either really cool or extremely tough to have the same name as an iconic character. Especially considering Luke Skywalker had quite a controversial journey in 2017’s The Last Jedi. During that year, the 22-year-old Skywalker stole 46 road signs with the help of three other people. They were found in the back seat of a car he was in after a traffic stop in Carter County.

While The Rise of Skywalker will end a long chapter of Star Wars that started with 1977’s A New Hope, the franchise is too successful to end there. It could go in a million crazy directions! I highly doubt it’ll go the way of an on-the-run movie about a Tennessee kid who stole some road signs and such, but who knows?

The Rise of Skywalker comes out on December 20 and will feature the return of Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, John Boyega, Kelly Marie Tran and Domhnall Gleeson, as well as new characters played by Keri Russell, Richard E. Grant and Dominic Monaghan, and the return of Carrie Fisher’s Leia, Billy Dee Williams’ Lando and Ian McDiamid’s Palpatine.
