Joy Behar was ready to make first contact with Anson Mount.
The View co-host was visibly thrilled when the Star Trek: Strange New Worlds actor appeared on the July 22 episode of the daytime talk show, and the two even took their friendship to the next level when they shared a long kiss on the lips at the start of the broadcast.
As Mount approached Behar and her fellow co-hosts, the 53-year-old stopped to say hello to Whoopi Goldberg before heading over to Behar. While she initially greeted him with a peck on the cheek, the two immediately went in for a full on kiss, much to the surprise and delight of the audience and the View hosts.
Once Mount took his seat, Sunny Hostin handed him a tissue to help remove some of Behar’s lipstick, quipping, “No wonder Joy has been talking about you all morning.”
And Behar was happy to play along, with the 83-year-old telling the crowd, “You know something? I’m old, but I’m not dead.”
