Co-developers Night Signal Entertainment and Grey Alien Games have announced that a public demo version of their upcoming “banned” 1995 CD-ROM title Forbidden Solitaire has been “leaked” to Steam. The 25-45 minute demo was accompanied by a new trailer “celebrating” the leak, with the full version of the throwback title expected to see release “imminently” this spring on Steam and GOG.

From the creators of Home Safety Hotline, this new title takes place in 2019. You’ve just brought home a strange yet familiar 1995 CD-ROM game from the thrift store. You vaguely remember seeing ads for this game back in the day, along with some kind of controversy surrounding it, but you never actually got the chance to play the game. Until now.

Forbidden Solitaire sees you delving into a 90’s FMV-inspired digital hellscape of dungeons and death, complete with a 256-colour graphics aesthetic. You must survive the horrors with bloodletting solitaire gameplay. Luckily. you can purchase upgrades from the friendly eye that watches you from the walls. And be wary of the game-changing Jokers you may come across. Some are helpful, while others are not so much.
