“Dexter: Resurrection” is officially in production!
“I am on the set for the first official day of production for ‘Dexter: Resurrection,’” Michael C. Hall announced in a video shared on social media.
“I’m looking forward to another thrill ride, and when all is said and done, to you taking the ride with us. Stay tuned,” he added.
Set in the present day, the continuation of “Dexter: New Blood” is expected to premiere this summer on Paramount+ with Showtime.
Hall will reprise his role as serial killer Dexter Morgan alongside David Zayas as Angel Batista, Jack Alcott as Harrison Morgan, and James Remar as Harry Morgan.
Clyde Phillips returns as showrunner and executive producer. Hall also executive produces along with Scott Reynolds, Tony Hernandez, and Lilly Burns. Fellow “Dexter” alumnus Marcos Siega serves as producing director.
“Dexter: Resurrection” plot details are being kept under wraps, but viewers got a peak at what happened following the final moments of “Dexter: New Blood” with the recent premiere of the prequel series, “Dexter: Original Sin.”
Based on Jeff Lindsay’s novel Darkly Dreaming Dexter, “Dexter” ran for eight seasons between 2006 and 2013. It was revived in 2001 with “Dexter: New Blood.” Hall returned to narrate as Dexter’s inner voice in “Dexter: Original Sin,” which debuted last month.
