What was supposed to be a fun Wizards of Waverly Place throwback turned into an online clash between David Henrie and Dan Benson—thanks to one eyebrow-raising comment. During a Buzzfeed interview, Henrie was asked to pick a guest character to appear in the Wizards Beyond Waverly Place revival. As he looked over the choices—Stevie, Gigi, Juliet, Mason, Hugh, and Zeke—Henrie paused, then delivered a snarky, “I can’t believe you guys put one of these people on here.”

The “one of these people” in question? None other than Zeke, Henrie’s on-screen bestie, played by Benson. Benson, now openly active on OnlyFans, has embraced a career far from the Disney bubble.

Benson Claps Back with Cash Offer

Unsurprisingly, Benson wasn’t about to let Henrie’s jab slide. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Benson responded to a viral clip of Henrie’s comment, posting, “David Henrie can suck my d***. I’ll pay him more than they paid me for Wizards, I promise you that.”

Ouch. It seems Benson is thriving in his new line of work—and isn’t shy about it. But the burn didn’t stop there. Shortly after Benson’s fiery response, Henrie hit the block button, officially cutting off his former co-star on social media.

Best Friends No More? Benson Mocks the Block

In true 2024 fashion, Benson took to social media to poke fun at being blocked, writing, “We pretended to be best friends for years. How could you do this to me??”

Fans were quick to point out the irony, considering the friendship their characters shared on Wizards. The duo’s back-and-forth has stirred up buzz around a Wizards revival, even if a Benson return seems unlikely now.

What’s Next for Waverly Place?

This Disney drama is miles from the clean-cut image the company loves, but it’s impossible to look away. Benson’s probably out for the revival, but Henrie and Selena Gomez are in. And if we’re picking from past faves, Hayley Kiyoko’s Stevie is the comeback we’re rooting for!
