Kicking off Hulu’s Huluween 2023 celebration, the body horror movie Appendage just debuted on the streaming service yesterday, so it’s now available for your consumption.

Appendage is Anna Zlokovic’s feature directorial debut, based on her 2021 short of the same name. The horror movie stars Hadley Robinson and Emily Hampshire.

In the film, “Hannah (Hadley Robinson), a young fashion designer, seems fine on the surface, but secretly struggles with debilitating self-doubt. Soon these buried feelings begin to make Hannah physically sick and sprout into a ferocious growth on her body: The Appendage.

“As Hannah’s health declines, The Appendage begins to fuel her anxieties – her perceived lack of talent at work, her deteriorating relationships with her boyfriend and best friend, and her parents’ lack of love and understanding. At her breaking point, Hannah makes a shocking discovery—there are others out there like her.”

Kausar Mohammed and Brandon Mychal Smith also star.

The Mean One, a highly unofficial Christmas horror movie that turns the Grinch into a slasher maniac, received a limited theatrical release last holiday season, and it’s now available at home. Steven LaMorte‘s slasher parody hit VOD, DVD and Blu-ray today, October 3.

In the audacious new parody, The Mean One (Terrifier‘s David Howard Thornton) is a hairy, green-skinned grump in a Santa suit, living on a mountain high above the town of Newville, despising the holiday season. Young Cindy You-Know-Who (Krystle Martin), whose parents were butchered by The Mean One twenty Christmases earlier, is returning to town to seek closure… but when the Mean One launches a new reign of terror that threatens to destroy Christmas, Cindy finds a bold new purpose – trapping and killing the monster.

Directed by LaMorte with a script by Flip and Finn Kobler, The Mean One also stars Chase Mullins, John Bigham, Erik Baker, Flip Kobler, and Amy Schumacher.

DREAD’s latest horror movie, The Jester was given a limited theatrical run beginning September 29, 2023, and the film was released onto VOD outlets today, October 3.

Revealing himself to be more than just a man in a mask, the evil entity begins to further torment the inhabitants of this small town on Halloween night. The path to defeating this unholy monster lies with the two sisters who realize that the only way to survive is to figure out how to right the wrongs of their dark past.”
