Why Priscilla Presley Knew Lisa Marie Was Not OK Days Before Death

News

Priscilla Presley is opening up about her daughter Lisa Marie Presley‘s final moments.

The 78-year-old recounted the days leading up to the late singer’s January death, sharing she had already sensed that something was amiss when the two attended a Golden Globes after-party on Jan. 10.

“I did know there was something not right,” Priscilla told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview published Aug. 23. “We sat down and ordered drinks, and she says, ‘Mom, my stomach hurts really bad.’ We immediately got up and left.”

Lisa Marie, whose dad was music legend Elvis Presley, died two days after the event at the age of 54. Her cause of death was ruled as complications stemming from small bowel obstruction.

On the morning of her passing, Lisa Marie was found unresponsive in her Los Angeles-area home and rushed to the hospital. According to Priscilla, Lisa Marie’s first husband Danny Keough—who is dad to the musician’s daughter Riley Keough and late son Benjamin Keough—was the one who called to let her know about the hospitalization.

“I got right in the car, but she was already gone,” the Dallas actress recalled. “I still can’t believe it. I don’t wish this on any mother.”
