Pretty Little Liars star Shay Mitchell has used TikTok to address the constant speculation over her sexuality – and hinted she may be bisexual.
In the video, Shay says no words but instead duets with another creator who asks: “Do you identify as bisexual? Do you own a green velvet couch?”
And as the creator asks, Mitchell lies down on her green velvet couch, the video finishes with another bisexual creator saying: “I love knowing nothing about my life is original” as she sits upon her own green velvet couch.
The video seems to confirm what Mitchell herself has implied over the years in various interviews.
Fans were ecstatic, commenting: “I love this for us” and “Are you saying what I think you’re saying!?!?!”
Another simply said: “The girls are winning.”
The actor played Emily Fields on Pretty Little Liars, who was a queer woman, as was Peach, her character in Netflix’s YOU.

In 2017 she told Maxim: “People always ask me, ‘You play a gay character? Are you gay? Are you straight? Are you this? Are you that?’”
“Look, Emily doesn’t label herself, and I don’t label myself either.
“I fall in love with the spirit of somebody. Love is love, and that’s something that I’ll keep saying.”
In 2021 she addressed the topic of liking women when recording a YouTube video with PLL co-star Ian Harding.
After Harding asked Mitchell when the last time she was attracted to a woman she responded: “Wow. Every day. For me, it’s never been ‘I need to find a boyfriend, I need to find this’.
“I truly feel like I do fall in love with a person. I liked the fact that I played Emily and I liked the fact that I played Peach. I’m honestly more intrigued by women than I am by men.”
The 35-year-old has been in a steady relationship with her boyfriend Matte Babel since 2017 and they have two children, Atlas and Rome.
Her TikTok video has already gained 1.6 million views and counting. Excited fans in the comments are hyping Shay Mitchell up following her not-so-subtle confirmation.
“Emily was my gay awakening so this just made my day,” one person commented. While other bisexuals in the comments confirmed they too owned a green velvet couch as it was a staple feature of queer culture.
