Julie Chrisley: It’s ‘telling’ who’s reached out after fraud conviction

Reality TV

Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley have noticed a shift in some of their friendships after being found guilty of bank fraud and tax evasion.

“This is a telling time for us as a family of people who have reached out and of people who haven’t reached out,” Julie, 49, said on the couple’s “Chrisley Confessions” podcast Wednesday.

Todd, 53, chimed in to say that while he and his wife have been dealing with the worst press “since the verdict,” they also received “an overflowing of love and support that far outweighs any negativity.”

The “Chrisley Knows Best” stars, who face up to 30 years in prison, briefly addressed the June 7 verdict in a previous episode of their podcast, but they noted that they were legally “not allowed” to discuss it in detail.

“We still hold steadfast in our faith, and we trust that God will do what he does best because God’s a miracle worker,” Todd said on June 16.

“We’re alive and kicking, and we appreciate all the support we have received from everyone.”

The couple’s daughter Savannah Chrisley, meanwhile, wrote about how life can be “so cruel” after her parents’ conviction.

“We’re all doing the best we can,” the former beauty pageant queen, 24, captioned an Instagram post last month. “I will continue to stand by my family and fight for justice. Justice for ourselves and for others that the system has failed.”

Even Todd’s estranged daughter Lindsie Chrisley, whom he shares with ex-wife Teresa Terry, has said that she was “deeply saddened” by the outcome of the trial.

“The verdict is not what I had hoped or prayed for, and I am deeply saddened for myself, my son and my family as a whole,” Lindsie, 32, wrote on her Instagram Story shortly after the news broke.

Todd was found guilty of conspiracy to commit bank fraud, conspiracy to defraud the United States and tax evasion. Julie was found guilty of the same federal charges as well as wire fraud and obstruction of justice.
