Kelly Dodd Thinks Dr. Jen Armstrong’s Split From Husband Ryne Holliday Is Fake

Reality TV

When it comes to Housewives, everyone has an opinion. Especially former Real Housewives of Orange County cast member, Kelly Dodd. Kelly, who was fired in 2021 after 5 controversial years on the show, has kept close tabs on RHOC ever since. Now she’s weighing in on the recent news of newbie Dr. Jen Armstrong’s legal separation from husband Ryne Holliday.

As reported by Page Six, Kelly seems to think it’s all for the show. On an Instagram post featuring the announcement of their separation, Kelly chimed in with her thoughts. She wrote, “Doesn’t mean they filed for divorce. Just means they want another season.” She inexplicably added three heart emojis at the end of her comment. As of a few days ago, her comment racked up 118 likes and 54 comments.

On May 13th, Jen filed for legal separation from Ryne after almost 8 years and 3 kids together. She cited “irreconcilable differences.” She also requested legal and physical custody of their children, leaving Ryne with visitation. In addition, Jen requested that the court terminate rights to spousal support for either party.

A source close to the couple said there was “no specific catalyst for the filing.” The insider added, “After their first trial separation in September [2021], Jen and Ryne were still in limbo, and Jen felt like she needed to take this step to improve their family dynamic. The issues they’ve been having are the same issues that played out on the show. But all is amicable, and they are committed to keeping their kids stable and happy.”

If you watched the last season of RHOC, you would be well aware that things were on the rocks between Jen and Ryne. Jen sought the help of castmate Heather Dubrow, who hosted a dinner party to help the couple back on track. It ended up being a disaster and the couple seemingly made no progress. Once filmed wrapped, Ryne moved out, as noted above by the source. But Jen confirmed it herself in May of this year. She said of their time apart, “Ryan and I are much better now. It got worse and then I turned a corner and came back around. It got better.”

For her part, Jen recently addressed the separation a statement. She shared, “While we are very sad, we are hoping that we heal and be even stronger as a family.”

TELL US – DO YOU AGREE WITH KELLY THAT THIS IS JEN TRYING TO SECURE A SPOT ON NEXT SEASON? SHOULD KELLY MIND HER OWN BUSINESS FOR ONCE? IS JEN BETTER OFF WITHOUT RYNE?
