Erika Jayne Gives An Update On Estranged Husband Tom Girardi’s Health; Says “Tom Thinks He’s Still Practicing Law”

Reality TV

When it comes to the scandal of Tom Girardi and his alleged misdeeds, he has all but faded into the background. His estranged wife and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika Jayne has been front and center. While she hasn’t been charged with anything, Erika has been accused of having knowledge of what Tom was up to. Which is allegedly embezzling millions of his clients’ settlement funds to fuel a lavish lifestyle with Erika.

As the house of cards came crashing down, Tom was diagnosed with Alzheimers and moved into a senior living facility. His brother became a conservator over his estate. And we haven’t heard a peep since. Now Erika, who filed for divorce one month before the new broke of the charges against him, is providing an update on his health.

As reported by E! News, Erika recently appeared on Watch What Happens Live when it came up. Host Andy Cohen asked about the state of Tom’s health. Erika replied, “Tom lives in a memory care facility. I can only say decline and further decline. It will not get better.”

She also noted that Tom isn’t aware of his legal troubles. Andy asked if the now disbarred lawyer understand that “that the chickens have come home to roost,” Erika confirmed he doesn’t. She revealed, “He thinks he’s still practicing law.” As for keeping in touch, Erika shared that it’s not often. When Tom calls, “It lasts about five seconds,” she stated.

Erika went on to say that she takes issue with people not reaching out to her about the situation. She recalled a conversation she had with former Real Housewives of New York star Dorinda Medley. Dorinda’s husband died in 2011. Erika shared of the conversation, “Long before any of this had ever happened, she told me about when her husband died and no one contacted her. And I kind of feel the same way. Tom’s not dead, yet legally he is dead, as ugly as that sounds.”

Andy pointed out that Dorinda’s deceased husband “was not a Bernie Madoff type.” To which Erika replied, “My husband may or may not be. They’re still investigating. I’m not defending him, but I’m also taking care of myself at the same time. I saw Tom do a lot of good things for people so you think some of those people perhaps would be like, ‘Hey Erika, how are you doing?’ but that has not happened.”

So who did reach out? According to Erika, both Kenya Moore and Kandi Burruss from Real Housewives of Atlanta got in touch with her. She didn’t name additional names, Erika said there were others who also reached out. But she concluded, “When I think about the women that reached out to me during this really dark moment in my life—and I really appreciate it, I really do—those are the women that come to mind.”
