Megan Fox opens up about her “brave” son’s decision to wear dresses and how she talks to her kids about gender identity.

The Jennifer’s Body star spoke to Glamour UK about how she parents her three kids Noah, Bodhi and Journey. Fox said she’s encouraged Noah – who she said began wearing dresses when he was two-years-old – to be himself and has provided books about gender identity to all her kids.

“Noah started wearing dresses when he was about two, and I bought a bunch of books that sort of addressed these things and addressed a full spectrum of what this is,” Fox said.

She continued: “Some of the books are written by transgender children. Some of the books are just about how you can be a boy and wear a dress; you can express yourself through your clothing however you want.

“And that doesn’t even have to have anything to do with your sexuality.”

Megan Fox explained that she’s “incorporated those things” into her children’s “daily lives” from the “time they were very young” so they could grow up without feeling like they are “weird or strange or different”.

But the Transformers star admitted that she can’t “control the way other people react to my children” or the way her kid’s classmates have been taught.

Fox, who started to get emotional, said she is “so proud of my kids”, and she described how Noah is an “unbelievable pianist” who can learn “Mozart’s concerto in an hour”.

The actor wanted people to see Noah’s “gentle soul” instead of saying “all the things that we all know they’re going to say”.

So Megan Fox explained that she’s tried to “protect” her kids “however I could” and has limited “their exposure to the internet” as a result.

“So far, we’ve done a really good job and we maintain their innocence in a lot of ways, but I know I can’t protect them forever, though I do have a child that suffers,” Fox said.

She continued: “So I have a lot of worries about that, because I just wish that humanity was not like this.

“Although my kid is so brave and my child is so brave and I know that they’ve chosen this journey for a reason. It’s just hard as a mom.”

Megan Fox, who got engaged to Machine Gun Kelly earlier this year, previously spoke about Noah’s love of fashion and how she’s encouraged him to be unapologetically himself.

Fox told The Talk hosts back in 2019 that Noah liked to wear dresses despite his classmates claiming that “boys don’t wear dresses” or “boys don’t wear pink”.

“So we’re going through that now, where I’m trying to teach him to be confident no matter what anyone else says,” Fox said.

She explained that Noah had “stopped wearing dresses for a while” but then decided to wear a dress to school a couple days earlier.

When he got home, Fox recalled how she asked about her son’s day at school, and Noah was happy to have worn something he loved.

“And he came home and I was like, ‘How was it? Did any of the friends at school have anything to say?’” Fox said.

“And he was like, ‘Well all the boys laughed when I came in, but I don’t care. I love dresses too much.’”
