Time Traveler’s Wife Show Images: Theo James & Rose Leslie Find Love

Movies

New photos from the HBO series adaptation of The Time Traveler’s Wife emerge showing the two leads, played by Theo James and Rose Leslie, in love. The story from Audrey Niffenegger’s novel was adapted once before in 2009 with Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana. The announcement of the new adaptation coming to HBO came out all the way back in 2018 with former Doctor Who showrunner, Steven Moffat, penning the adaptation. In February of 2021, it was revealed that James, of Divergent fame, and Leslie, seen in Game of Thrones, would be starring as the time traveler and his titular wife.

Now, TVLine has released new pictures from the adaptation that feature James and Leslie embracing as well as some photos of other actors in the upcoming series. Desmin Borges and Natasha Lopez can be seen in these new pictures as friends of the two romantic leads. The images show the couple embracing as well as the two of them alone in the same setting, displaying the central predicament of the story: having a partner who is there one minute and gone the next. These photos help to display the love and visual mood for the series and help audiences see what they have to look forward to when the series comes to air. If these images are anything to say for the series, it’s clear that the Sanditon alum and Leslie will show a lovely relationship that kindles over the first season. This should hopefully address criticisms that were made about the film adaptation of The Time Traveler’s Wife for not allowing the couple to have time to engage in their romance before they are tragically taken away from one another. There is still not an official release set for the series, but it will be released in 2022.
