Mary Cosby Accused Of Encouraging Self Harm In A Tweet To A Real Housewives Fan

Reality TV

Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’s Mary Cosby, has shocked us yet again; this time with her response to another Twitter account that was perceived to allegedly encourage self harm, according to The Sun.

Those watching RHOSLC lately have been following along as Mary, over the course of the last few episodes, has made what fans and fellow cast mate’s have called out as blatantly racist and prejudiced comments. Most recently, Mary commented to cast member Jennie Nguyen that she loved [Jennie’s] slanted eyes.

In that same conversation Mary also made reference to “yellow tones” in Jennie’s skin. Viewers were also shocked to see her mock Jennie’s Vietnamese accent in another scene when discussing Jennie with fellow housewife Meredith Marks.

Mary was confronted in the latest episode as the ladies were together and Jennie expressed to Mary the problem with the “slanted eyes” comment. Jennie explained, “You’re an adult, take some responsibility. Right now, there is a lot of Asian hate. Take responsibility for your words.”

Mary was apologetic in the end, explaining “I will never walk down that road. I apologize”. As the episode aired, fans, outraged, took to Twitter.

Meredith, who had been present for Mary mocking Jennie’s accent, was slammed by livid viewers for being allegedly complicit in Mary’s behaviour. She responded during the show, tweeting “I later talked to Mary one on one in hopes that would be productive. I also made sure Jennie knew that she has my support. Please be patient.”

One user account responded to Meredith, saying “what the hell is wrong with Mary?” Well, that’s all it took to set Mary off on this particular account…

The Housewife replied to the user from her verified account, “what’s wrong with you? Go jump! I don’t care what you think? I don’t know you and don’t want too! You would not understand me anyways…” Sheesh. Where is this woman’s PR team?

The response was swift, as it seemed many had little patience for what they interpreted to be dangerous and unkind words from a woman that works in the liturgy, no less.

Twitter users were quick to point out the severity of how they construed Mary’s tweet. One account responded, “Telling someone to ‘go jump’ is unacceptable. No woman of God should recommend suicide. Take the high road and write a sermon about treating people with kindness.”

A second user account tweeted, “what I do not understand is how someone who is suppose be of the close can be so not self aware. You say such hurtful things without any remorse. A lie is not a lie if you believe it and it’s quite obvious you believe the lie that you are a decent human being.”

Another user account agreed, tweeting what the rest of us, tired, ex Mary Cosby stans are feeling right about now, “Yeah I give up on you Mary. This is just sick and gross.” While problematic housewives are nothing new to the Bravo franchise, this has gotten to a whole other level of toxic that 2022 Bravo fans will not accept. We demand better.
