Hi, thanks for sitting down with us today. I feel like this doesn’t get asked enough in interviews, so how are you doing today?
Thank you so much for having me! I am doing great! I’m just getting more and more excited every day for my new single to be released next month!!
Tell us about your relationship with music. Do you turn to it more when you’re sad or down, or when you’re happy?
I feel like both emotions draw me to music as an outlet, but I would say that I turn to it more when I’m happy than when I am sad because I always try to have a positive outlook and embrace those happy feelings. Listening to a song that lifts your mood is one of the best feelings, and it just adds so much more to your overall happiness. Writing music is also a great outlet for my emotions because I can put what I’m feeling into words, and it always helps me process different situations better than I would be able to by just solely thinking about them in my head.
What themes seem to show up over and over in your songs, if any? Why do you think that is?
I would say my most common theme is relationships and how I have navigated them so far. For so many of us relationships in general are filled with ups and downs, and I’d guess most people can relate to that roller coaster of emotions. I really want all of my songs to be genuine and based off of things I have actually experienced, while also being relatable to others, so I just try to write about my experiences as they come so that they can be the most authentic.
What have you found most difficult about releasing music?
At first, it was really difficult to find the right sound for me. It took a song or two for me to really figure out what I liked and what I felt represented me, my style, and what I wanted to say in the best way. Once I was able to realize what felt the most natural and sounded the best to me, it made the whole process a lot easier.
Tell us about what you’re working on right now!
I have a new single coming out on January 8th called “Are You Down.” I am extremely excited to share my first project, and I hope that you all love it! I also will be releasing an EP later this year which is super exciting as well!
Do you have a favorite lyric or verse from your most recent single?
I think my favorite lyric from my new single is “I want to go higher with you” because, to me, it just symbolizes that feeling of butterflies in your stomach when you are really into someone and you guys are growing closer. There is such a longing and hopefulness that this feeling brings, and I really love that lyric because I think it captures that desire perfectly.
Thanks so much for chatting with us today! Where can we find your music online?
