Actor Linda Collins Continues Her Rise to New Heights

Actor and producer Linda Collins continues to rack up award-winning roles and challenge herself with a growing list of projects. One might even say it’s hard to keep up with this multi-faceted artist. As the holidays near, and 2022 just on the horizon, the Omaha Latino Festival Best Supporting Actress winner for her role in the short film, Perception, is just one caveat to the St. Louis, Mo., born, Tuscaloosa, Ala.-raised, multi-hyphenates’ impressive resume.

Perception is currently streaming on Amazon Prime. Collins, who also executive produced and played one of the lead roles in Perception, won Best International Film at the Brightside Film Festival. Collins’ additional work on short films currently on the circuit, or streaming on Amazon Prime, include Three For The Road, a drama film directed by actor-director-writer, David Patrick Wilson. The story is about three women who meet in yoga class, only to join each other discover a spiritual journey. Wilson also stars in the film and is best known for his roles as Harry Barnes in The Bronx Zoo TV series and as Kenny Hopkins in the 1983 cult hit, Eddie and the Cruisers.

Collins acted and served as executive producer in  Mary Jane’s Tribulations, a scathing drama about poor parenting, and its effects on the child. The film was directed by Arsen Bornik and recently screened at Ireland’s 12th Chain Festival and is also an official selection at the Northeast Mountain Film Festival. The festival’s backdrop is the gorgeous Blue Ridge Mountains in Georgia and is set for November 2021. Collins is currently in production for the thriller Cutter. Her feature film work this year includes the horror flick, Dying to Love You and the western / drama,  The Stable (21st Century Vision Films).

Outside of film, the prolific actor can be seen in the online, Zoom comedy series, CUZZINS (21st Century Films). The zany comedy centers on three cousins growing up together in Brooklyn, with Collins taking on the role of Nancy Decker. Collins’ other body of work is acting on the New York City-location of crime-drama, Paper. The multi-instrumentalist, who holds a Master of Music degree from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Ill., and an impressive music resume that includes performing in the Winnipeg Symphony, Naples Philharmonic and Huntsville Symphony Orchestra. Additionally, she performed in the orchestra on such plays as Showboat with Tony Award and Emmy Award winners Robert Morse and Elaine Stritch, and the Toronto staging of The Phantom of The Opera.

Canadian Minister of Heritage Flora McDonald appointed Collins to serve three years as a member of the Canadian Advisory Committee on the Status of the Artist, and Collins later received an appointment by International Federation of Musicians President Tom Lee to serve the international music community for six years. Collins continues to work with premier New York City acting school, T. Schreiber Studio. Much of Collins professional acting career has a varied flavor. She’s starred in such diverse offerings as RedrumDating on MarsStalked: Someone’s WatchingCelebrity Ghost Stories (she portrays Cherie Currie’s mom in the episode), True Crime with Aphrodite Jones and more. It’s safe to say that 2022 and beyond, Collins will be just as busy.
