Lisa Vanderpump Denies Asking For $2 Million To Return To Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

Reality TV

Lisa Vanderpump is a housewives icon. No one can dispute that. And despite being gone from Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for a few years now, fans can at least get their LVP fix on Vanderpump Rules. You know, her hit spin off that has been on air since 2013. But many fans don’t think that’s enough and are still pissed about how Lisa was pushed off the show. And it’s not hard to be when we were then left suffering through multiple seasons of Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave. But I digress.

There was a time when I thought Lisa would never leave the show. Year after year, the women of RHOBH banned together to oust her. And she just kept rising to the top. Her appeal and fan base were hard to deny. So I was shocked when Puppy Gate of all things finally pushed her over the edge. To recap: Dorit Kemsley got a dog from LVP’s rescue. She then returned it to a kill shelter instead of honoring the adoption contract (and human decency). It leaked to the press and the women were hellbent on proving that LVP did it. LVP was so mad, she didn’t even show up to the reunion. And with that, LVP disappeared from RHOBH. Well, not exactly. You know the women couldn’t stop talking about her.

It’s not surprising that fans want Lisa back. And recent rumors that she was asking $2 million to return really got people talking. Unfortunately for us, Lisa denies that’s the case. As reported by Us Weekly, LVP tweeted, “What utter nonsense. I have asked for no such thing lol … [no] conversation regarding ‘that’ at all. Filming something fun today.”

Not to say that discussions weren’t had. Back in December, Lisa said of a return to the show, “Bravo, even you know, said to me, ‘What about in the future?’ I’m like, This is now. And that’s then. I’m really in a different place in my life now.”

In March, Lisa explained her thinking on an episode of “Getting Real with the Housewives” podcast. She said of Puppy Gate, “I left because I was very, very, very unhappy and I didn’t appreciate being called a liar. To accuse me of selling a story, when you never get stories come out of my restaurants, you know, so it was such an insult to me. It was about my heart, it was about the Vanderpump Dog Foundation, which was something that was born out of complete compassion and my passion project. I just thought, ‘I’m done with it.’”

But don’t completely give up hope. Lisa has also revealed, “People always ask me, ‘Would I go back?’ You can never say never, because I always said I’d never do a reality show in the first place. I had so many good experiences that came from that and I had such a good relationship with the production.”

While it doesn’t sound like it’s going to happen anytime soon, at least there is some hope. And although the Erika Jayne drama saved this season of RHOBH, we have to admit that things have been the same since Lisa left. I think if she did come back, $2 million would be money well spent.
