Kelly Dodd Makes Transphobic Video For A Fan And Apologizes Following Backlash

Reality TV

OK so it’s safe to say that most of us know by now that Kelly Dodd is a damn trainwreck. The fired Real Housewives of Orange County star can’t help but offend anyone and everyone in her path who disagrees with her. Whether it’s not getting the backlash for wearing a “Drunk Wives Matter” hat or throwing low-blows regarding peoples’ appearances, Kelly has proved her inability to be a compassionate, kind person.

And she continues to prove that Bravo made the right move by firing her and bringing Heather Dubrow back to save RHOC. Especially after Kelly accused Heather’s son of giving her COVID, and gave a half-hearted apology to avoid being sued by the Dubrow family lawyers. Maybe if she just learned to just SHUT UP she wouldn’t have to make all of these apology videos to combat her rightfully-owed backlash. Shouldn’t she be focusing on finding a new job for her and her husband Rick Leventhal by now? Or literally finding ANY other somewhat productive way to spend her time.

Kelly’s most recent stunt has to do with her offending someone in a Cameo video while taking $100 out of their bank account. Classy. According to Page Six, Kelly recently made a birthday shout-out video on Cameo to someone named Jennifer, and spent most of the video being offensive and making transphobic remarks.

“This is Jennifer ‘she/her,’ I don’t get this,” Kelly said. “You’re either a boy or a girl, OK?” Why does Kelly have to sound like she’s the ultimate authority on EVERYTHING she ever comments on. If you don’t get it, just don’t say anything. Children literally are better at grasping this than her.

Kelly continued by saying “You’re born a girl or a boy. I don’t get it. You’re Jennifer. I’m sorry, I don’t give a f–k.” She added that she’s already fired, so she doesn’t have much to lose. Girl, you’re about to lose the only way you’re making money because someone PAID FOR THIS NONSENSE. I’d be so mad if I spent $100 to receive this B.S. I guess this serves as an example of what happens when you order a Cameo from Kelly Dodd.

She also managed to bash the owners of a “billion-dollar” house she was at for not serving her food and managed to call her own daughter Jolie Dodd “lazy.” Awesome. Of course, Kelly had to head back to Instagram to give an apology in a half-hearted attempt to save one of the only income streams she has left. Sigh.

Kelly gave the excuse that she’s been doing Cameo for a couple of years and never saw the pronoun feature before. Girl, it’s called an APP UPDATE. It’s not that hard to understand. “This was the first time I saw a reference of he/him/she/they/them,” she said. “I grew up in Arizona with people who were born a boy and a girl and maybe a hermaphrodite here and there.” JUST STOP TALKING. Kelly probably honestly believes that trans people didn’t exist until after the turn of the century. Ignorance is not an excuse to be a complete and total asshole. Then she blamed her comments on the fact that she’s been drinking. She said, “I was just reacting in my own raw and unfiltered way,” she continued. Here we go again with Kelly trying to excuse harmful comments by saying she loves to speak her mind. She then said she accepts everyone for who they are, who they want to be and “who they believe themselves to be.” Hmm, quite a different tune than her declaring a person is either a boy or a girl. Just stop.

“I dont’ hate on anyone. I’m not transphobic. I was just unfamiliar with the language,” she continued. Kelly, if you’ve been on the internet for the past few years I have a hard time believing you’ve never seen someone declare their pronouns before. And even if that somehow is true, there’s no need to make that the focal point of a BIRTHDAY MESSAGE to one of the only fans you have left.

To finish off this nightmare of a video, she asked fans to be tolerant OF HER if they expect her to be tolerant of others. No one needs to tolerate ignorance and bigotry, let’s get that straight. “That’s only fair. And I’m learning and I’m growing and growing and maybe you can help me with this,” Kelly said. Kelly, I’ll give you some helpful advice — LOG OFF. FOR GOOD. That’s the only way to salvage yourself anymore. And save yourself the embarrassment, backlash and potential lawsuits.
